Scavenger Hunt Sunday - May 22-28

Thursday, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to make it to this week's Scavenger Hunt posting. Busy week I've had and we were on a business trip. I thought I had nothing but two new shots to put up but when I checked out my photos, I had everything but the dreaded self-portrait. Ha! Here are what I came up with:

1. Classic Still Life
I'll be 40 in a year and growing up, I've seen this shot as a painting on a wall in many houses or on greeting cards. Classic, I'd say. I wasn't sure what to do with the editing. I put two layers of light blue. Too dull. Then I added three layers of Kim Klassen's cinnamon texture and voila! I really like it!

2. Self-Portrait
This is one of the reasons why I didn't think I was going to make it to this week's SHS. I dread self-portrait! I'd rather be behind the camera. So I looked for inspiration online, dressed up, put make-up on, put newly purchased high heels on (I know the shoes aren't showing but I just wanted to wear them for motivation. LOL!), and went on a quest to the empty lot next to our place. Thankfully, I ran 4K that morning so I was in shape to beat the 10-second timer. LOL!!! Here you go, vintage photo!

3. On The Floor
Open-air market vendor - garlic and onions.
Day 273

4. Lines
Lines and lines of cars! This is normal Bangkok traffic. This wasn't even rush hour yet. The following day, it rained real heavyly during rush hour and we were stuck on this road for close to 2 1/2 hours!!! I'm glad I don't live in this city.
Day 271

5. Fresh
Fresh rambutans from the market down the street. They are sooooo good. They ain't like the ones in the can. Less than dollar for 2.2 lbs (1 kg).

Here's my submission for Scripture and Snapshot this week:
Love the verse! God erases our past when we look to Him and gives us joy and peace beyond compare. This verse talks about His REDEEMING grace. I am in awe of Him.

I took this picture this week inside a mall. The whole mall was decorated with lots of tropical flowers and they were all blooming! So pretty!
Job 33:28

HAVE A GREAT WEEK FRIENDS!!!

So while I love your lines and on the floor shots, let's be honest...you are beautiful. You really should get in front of the camera more often!

I love the self-portrait; that's one I really struggled with for this week. I'd rather be behind the camera too...

Enjoyed all of your photos, especially the fresh one and the line of cars. But I delighted in the one that was filled with light as the plant lifted its head to the Light.

Blessings,
Janis

all beautiful photos. The first one is very classic and stunning. As are you - STUNNING! and I just adore On the Floor. All the bright colored baskets that match the hat - its beautiful and well done. And what exactly is a rambutan and how do you eat it? I'm fascinated and I wonder if I can find it in Colorado, USA at any of the speciality markets?!

fabulous set of photos and glimpse into your life. Love that you wore your heels because of how it makes you feel even if they do not show in the the photo

Oh wow! So many awesome shots! That still life is amazing! It's my favorite out of all the still life photos I've seen today. Your self portrait is lovely and I love your take on lines. I've never heard of what is in your fresh shot but it makes a pretty photo. Really outstanding job this week.

Your still life is a true classic! That texture is very nice indeedy.

You should do self-portraits more often. Love your necklace and dress- such a pretty color on you!

I need to google rambutans (assuming I spelled it correctly). I have no idea what they are (yet).

And that verse. WOW. Exactly what I needed today.
