Scavenger Hunt Sunday - June 5-11 AND Scripture and Snapshot

I am TANNED! My family and I came home Thursday midnight from our four-day vacation at the beach. And I am as tan as I can get. Forgot to put sun screen on but hey! No sunburns. I'm blessed to be Asian and brown. We did absolutely nothing but just laze around the pool three hours each day, ate at restaurants at the mall, and shop a little. It was the most relaxing time I've ever had while on vacation and I spent very little money. Yay!

This will be my second to the last posting from Thailand. More about that next week. ;-)

Here are my shots this week:

1. Long Exposure
This is a 3-second exposure on the beach with my boys running. Not very long but long enough to make the waves on the shore look silky.
SHS - Long Exposure 1

And then, last night my boys and I had fun with a tiny flashlight with a 20-second exposure in a pitch-dark room.
SHS - Long Exposure 2

2. Shape
This is one of the girls in our Student Center. For the first time in their lives the students got to play with sidewalk chalk that my co-worker found at a mall during our vacation this week.
SHS - Shapes

3. Green
This picture is a combination of 3 shots. Middle and bottom raindrops are from two shots after the first one was taken.
SHS - Green

4. Fruit
This shot was taken back in March when we went to a watermelon patch during harvest time. Just imagine how heavy those baskets are. On average, two watermelons are about 24-25 lbs! Labor costs US$5-7 a day! Not an hour... a day!

5. Childhood Memory
A shot of my boys at the beach on the day we left. They found a dead fish and they dared each other to see who was brave enough to touch it. Hahaha! Boys! Yearly family vacation to this beach is a childhood memory of theirs when they grow up.
SHS - Childhood Memories

And here's my Scripture and Snapshot photo this week. This verse reminds us that our life is fleeting but the Lord abides forever.
1 Peter 1:24

Below is a picture of my boys and me at the beach. It was a very beautiful day with beautiful blue sky, it was hard to say goodbye to the beach. Until next year! Have a great week, friends!

Wow! Great photos! My favorite is the long exposure one on the beach, but all of them are terrific.

Darlene what a great ghosting effect on your long exposure and I really like how you embedded those 3 photos together to show the drips of water - that's soooooo cool :)

I can't wait to hear what the Lord has in store for you as a family next - sounds exciting but you'll have such precious memories to look back on especially with all of your beautiful photos.

We live in Thailand too, so we see the same stories about those workers around us all the time... love the Green shot!

Hey Darlene! Came to your blog through Ashley's. I am not a photography pro, but I love taking snapshots and looking at them. I loved the way you have documented bits and pieces of your life through pics. Will be back to read more. :)

Thailand has a special significance for me and my husband - we went there on our honeymoon. We both fell in love with the place in the 6 days that we stayed there. It's fun to relive those days through your photos. I should thank you for that!
