Scavenger Hunt Sunday and Scripture & A Snapshot - February 26 - March 3, 2012

Hi, everyone! Wow! Is it really March already? Spring is coming up and we totally missed the ONLY snow this winter in Virginia. Today I saw several squirrels and lots of robins in our yard.

I missed the last two weeks of SHS and Scripture & A Snapshot. We were traveling. This week, I was lacking inspiration so I decided to used my phone for this week's items. iPhone photos are also edited on the iPhone. Here they are:

1. Routine

Monday- Thursday afternoon routine for my boys - homework!

2. Music

We sang this song in church this Sunday.

3. Technology

Aren't smartphones such amazing technology? You can play games on it (like what these three boys are doing), take pictures, edit pictures, and much, much more.

4. Show Me Your Style

Selfie - two weeks ago. This is the only shot for SHS this week that's not taken with my phone. I saw a shot similar to this on Pinterest and decided to copy it. I think it was an advertisement for a belt.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - January 29 - February 4, 2012

I couldn't believe it! This week in Virginia, we had two warm days - warm enough for sleeveless shirts and flip-flops! 65ºF!!! I was loving it but my boys are longing for snow days. We have yet to see snow this winter season. Did the ground hog see his shadow the other day? I didn't even keep up with that. Ha!

Here are my SHS items this week.

This was from November 2011. I think this is my favorite selfie, by far! I made this as the cover of my photo book that I gave away as Christmas gifts.

Since I had to slice the lime for this photo, I just had to make limeade. It was so yummy!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - January 22-28, 2012

It's been a good week. I was very good with eating well and doing my work outs. On Monday, I took my boys on a special dinner treat - gourmet ice cream and popcorn. They loved that. I got showered with hugs and kisses the rest of the week. I have sweet boys.

Here's my SHS items this week:

1. Smile

Reading a book makes me smile. Self-portrait. I am now on my 25th week of this year-long project. Half-way mark! 

2. Stand Alone

This was taken with my iPhone. I didn't have my big camera with me. We drive by this house when we go to the gym. The sun and the colors were just perfect, I just had to take a picture. Added a Kim Klassen texture to make it look like a picture on canvas and to mask the pixels a little bit.

3. Rusty or Something Old

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - January 15-21,2012

Hi, Blogging Friends!

I hope everyone is doing well and getting used to typing "2012." I still stuck on 2011.

I am so sporadic in my appearances on SHS. I was telling a friend on Thursday that it will be awhile before I link to SHS again but today I looked at the items and realized I have the 3 of the shots this week and I can pull out a couple from archive. So here we go!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - 10-17 December 2011

Seems like every week for the last 4 months gets busier and busier. My boys just finished their very first semester of regular school. We've always home schooled so this was a new experience for us. They made very good grades; I'm so proud of them. Now we are relieved to be on Christmas break and sleep in in the mornings.

Here are my items for SHS this week.

1. What Is It?
It is a very beautiful pottery made by the groom in the wedding I co-shot for today. You can see his signature at the bottom.

2. Children/Fur Babies Sleeping
After fussing for an hour, my little guy finally fell asleep.

3. Joy
Looks like candid but this was actually a posed shot. My middle son is an actor. Haha.

Today I had the privilege of assisting a wedding photographer at my oldest son's teacher's wedding. The day was beautiful although the temperature was nippy. It was a very simple but beautiful god-honoring wedding. Here are a couple shots from today:

And the good-looking couple - they are both Pastor's children. Very godly man and woman that God brought together after waiting for a long time for the right mate. So happy for Marcus + Dinisha.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - December 4-10, 2011

I haven't been consistent on SHS. I miss the posts and the challenges. Been on the road a lot in the fall. I am so thankful to be home for awhile. It's been great catching up with friends and just having a routine at home. I love the holidays.

Here are my items for this week's SHS:
1. Less Is More
Less calorie, more healthy (healthier). Home-made chicken noodle soup and garlic herb cheese biscuit.

2. Holiday Lights
Played around with aperture and shutter speed [f18|10 seconds] using wide angle lens.

3. Ornaments
One of my favorite Christmas carols.

4. Cup of Cheer
Hot cocoa! Yay!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday - June 5-11 AND Scripture and Snapshot

I am TANNED! My family and I came home Thursday midnight from our four-day vacation at the beach. And I am as tan as I can get. Forgot to put sun screen on but hey! No sunburns. I'm blessed to be Asian and brown. We did absolutely nothing but just laze around the pool three hours each day, ate at restaurants at the mall, and shop a little. It was the most relaxing time I've ever had while on vacation and I spent very little money. Yay!

This will be my second to the last posting from Thailand. More about that next week. ;-)

Here are my shots this week:

1. Long Exposure

This is a 3-second exposure on the beach with my boys running. Not very long but long enough to make the waves on the shore look silky.

And then, last night my boys and I had fun with a tiny flashlight with a 20-second exposure in a pitch-dark room.

2. Shape

This is one of the girls in our Student Center. For the first time in their lives the students got to play with sidewalk chalk that my co-worker found at a mall during our vacation this week.

3. Green

This picture is a combination of 3 shots. Middle and bottom raindrops are from two shots after the first one was taken. 

4. Fruit

This shot was taken back in March when we went to a watermelon patch during harvest time. Just imagine how heavy those baskets are. On average, two watermelons are about 24-25 lbs! Labor costs US$5-7 a day! Not an hour... a day!

5. Childhood Memory

A shot of my boys at the beach on the day we left. They found a dead fish and they dared each other to see who was brave enough to touch it. Hahaha! Boys! Yearly family vacation to this beach is a childhood memory of theirs when they grow up. 

And here's my Scripture and Snapshot photo this week. This verse reminds us that our life is fleeting but the Lord abides forever. 

Below is a picture of my boys and me at the beach. It was a very beautiful day with beautiful blue sky, it was hard to say goodbye to the beach. Until next year! Have a great week, friends!
