Sunday Creative - Fresh

My appearance on the Sunday Creative link has been sporadic. I live a crazy life - with momma and wife duties, and missionary duties - but I am so blessed where I am and so privileged to be ministering to the people in this area.

One thing about living here is, we get fresh fruits and vegetables everyday at the open market just half a mile down the road from us. And if I'm too lazy to cook, there are always freshly cooked meals. The pictures below are from the market today - grilled pork on sticks and grilled whole tilapia. These are both YUMM!!!

Scripture & Snapshot - March 27-April 2

It's Sunday! Time for Scripture & Snapshot and Sunday Creative.

I took this shot a week ago at a gift shop. I love the fact that I have taken TONS of pictures in that gift shop these past several months but have not bought anything. The owner doesn't know me but she recognizes my face. I think she likes it that I take pictures of her goods. :)

This week's theme for Maegan's Sunday Creative is "magnify." Took this shot yesterday during Sunday School time at our children's church here. Oh how I love listening and watching these Thai kids sing praises and magnify the name of the one true and living God of the ages, God of all nations, God of all tribes and tongues.

Scripture and A Snapshot and Sunday Creative - February 6-12

I mentioned in the previous post that I have been on blogging hiatus. I'm back and it's good to be back! Hello, friends!

Here's my photo submission for Katie Lloyd's Scripture and a Snap Shot. I love this photo of my happy little boy and I think this a perfect verse for it. I had SOOC lens flare but added a little bit more on PSE9 for more mood and effect.

And here's my submission for this week's Sunday Creative prompt over at MadelineBea.Com's blog.

This week's prompt is "PERSPECTIVE." When I get discouraged and start doubting what God has in store for me and my family, I think of this verse. Now, that changes my perspective on my purpose in life.

Sunday Creative and Luke 2:28

This week's prompt for Sunday Creative over at Maegan's blog is, THAW. 
Definition…verb; 1. To melt or cause to melt 2.To become so warm as to melt ice or snow 3. To abandon aloofness or hostility.

Well... we don't have winter here but this picture sure does looks like icicles hanging from a roof or door way. This was actually from inside our freezer. I added a bokeh texture.

Here's my submission for the Scripture and A Snapshot over at Katie Lloyd's blog. I have really been struggling this week regarding trusting God to provide for us. Here's what I wrote about it: "O, You of Little Faith." God really spoke to my heart as I was editing this photo a few days ago.

Well, friends! I hope you've been encourage by God's Word to keep you trusting in our Jehovah for yet another busy week for most of us.

Boys, Kites, and a Poodle

Weather has been so nice lately. Cool and windy. It stared during the last week of October. That was strange because we normally don't get this cool (mid-60's to mid-70's) this early. Normally it's in December and January. But, I sure do love it! The boys have been asking their Daddy to fly kites almost every afternoon after school time. So... off they go. And I get to enjoy a quiet house for a little while. Yesterday, I tagged along.

I'm submitting this kite photo for the "ASPIRATION" theme over at the Sunday Creative that Justine Gordon is hosting.

Little guy had a fried chicken for a snack.

MooMoo, the poodle, follows him around.

"Do you want some, Moo?" He asks.

After taking just a few bites, he gives it to the dog. Little kid, big heart. That's my boy!

And then my middle boy and I ran a kilometer with this doggie. The end.

My dynamic trio, not duo. These boys are cute and sweet but are very capable of tearing up the whole house! I wish I have their energy and enthusiasm about life. I am also submitting this photo for Maegan's Sunday Creative this week.

I'm Very Nostalgic Right Now - Sunday Creative

Yes, I am. I wouldn't even deny it. Every year during the fall season I am. It's my favorite season. Every year, the month of October makes me nostalgic about the bright colored leaves in my hands, crispness of the air through my nose, the warmth of hot cocoa or apple cider down my throat, the excitement of everybody about the coming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays that warms up my heart, and the sound of crushed leaves under my feet when I played outside with my boys. E.V.E.R.Y year in October, I find myself browsing through fall photos I took during the times I was in the U.S. I hope next year I get to see it once again. *Sigh*

This week's theme for Maegan's Life Set to Words Sunday Creative is "nostalgia." I took several photos this week but they just didn't hit the spot in my heart. This photo is from my archive, taken in the fall of 2006 in the area near Traverse City, Michigan. This is one of my dearest photos; one that always pull up to show off some of my photography. When I took this photo, I had just gotten my dslr and was still shooting on auto all the time.

Sunday Creative Post - Weeks of September 19th and 26th

I missed last week's theme. We were traveling. I had company. No internet for one whole week!!! I'm still posting my photo, though. Here's my take on the word: ABUNDANT

This country is abundant with beautiful flowers especially orchids of all sorts of colors and shape.

This week's theme is NOTHING. Ooohhh! So many possibilities. I had a really good one but I decided not to go with it because I may get in trouble with the people I'm working with. It may also offend the people of my host country.

This lady happened to just walk by our house as I was taking pictures for a different assignment. She has nothing: no shoes, no brand new clothes, no material possessions except probably just this tub to put donated food in. It made me think just how much I'm blessed with! Next time I see her, I'll give her some of my shoes. I have wayyyyyyyy too many!

Sunday Creative Post - Week of September 12th

This week's theme is COMFORT.

I love shoes! And I love comfy shoes. Imagine me propping my feet up with those shoes on and a big mug of coffee in my hands, looking out the window. Now, that's simple "comfort" for me.

Sunday Creative Post - Week of September 5th

This week's theme is TIMEWORN.

I can't tell if the seat cushion is worn out rubber or burnt foam.

Today, we drove by this truck. My husband thought it was a good photo opt not knowing this week's theme. He was so excited when he found out. He snapped a couple photos thinking he can do a better job (He likes photography as well and he was the one who got me into it and bought this camera for himself but I claimed it. Ha!). I told him, I have to take the photos myself. I can't post his photos. He was disappointed. Hahaha! Start your own blog, Honey!

What's interesting about this truck is, it still runs and is being used as a tow truck. And I love the light fixtures, especially the emergency lights at the top! Would you want your car towed by this old truck? Ummm... I'm not sure how to answer that question. Hahaha!

Sunday Creative Post - Week of August 29th

I have been following the "Creative Sunday" posts of Madeline Bea Photography for sometime now. Prior to building this blog, I only posted my weekly challenge pictures on facebook and Flickr. Starting this week I will post my work here as well.

This week's theme is "illuminate." It was really challenging for me to find something creative to photograph other than the common lighting captured by so many already - candles, lamps, sunlight, moon, etc. I wanted to stretch my creative self.

As my family and I were riding in the car the other night, I was playing with my camera. I used manual focus for the first time! I loved the bokeh that I got with MF wayyyyyy better than when I used AF for this particular shot.

The blue is a headlight from an oncoming car. The two reds are tail lights from the car in front of us. The orange ones are the highway lamp posts. I love how all the lights are converging into one point on the left bottom side.

These photos are my projects from a FREE online workshop I participated in that ran for two weeks. It was challenging but so fun. Each day had a different theme and interpreted in any way we wanted.
